OK, I'm wired to the wall today because we're leaving in the morning, was bored and thought about this thread, possibly the funniest VIOL thread of all time. I just started re-reading it and it was killing me all over again, so I thought that I'd bump it up again. For the newer members of the board especially.Melanie wrote:Longtime lurker & lover of this forum.
Is it my imagination, or are so many of you on here obsessed with booze? It seems to be so many people's most exciting thing to bring, buy, prepare for and talk about on this forum.
I just find it odd that so many talk about how wonderful and serene St. John is and how wonderful it feels to be on island then find it so important and possibly necessary to be with drink in hand to appreciate it.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not a anti drinking. And I certainly don't want to come off judgemental or offend anyone, but I find it pretty sad. I find so much of the talk here to be very similar to college kids' talk regarding drinking.
Thanks for listening to my hopefully non-offensive observation.
Mel

LOL.
I just gave up an hour of otherwise billable time to read this thread. Worth it!
The original college kid comment did kind of resonate with me. My wife and I spent one night of our last trip there going from the Beach Bar to High Tide to Morgan's Mango and ended up at Woody's. Had a blast, and I remember commenting to my wife that it reminded me of college. And that was a good thing. College was 30 years ago for me.
