Rental agency with a less than 10 day holiday policy
Rental agency with a less than 10 day holiday policy
I've convinced the family that nothing would be better than being in St John for Christmas. Had planned for a week, but Destinations St John, who we rented from in 2008, has a 10 day minimum. I'm still getting over the sticker shock of the holiday rates
and now I have to convince hubby that we can do 10 days? Are there agencies that will rent for 7 days during the holidays?

Also, it might depend on the dates you want - they might rent for less days if there is still another week that they can rent after or before you at the holiday rates...... in addition to VRBO try finding the villas that are rented directly by the owner through their own sites.......
Check those listed on the viol site (above) or http://www.on-stjohn.com/ as starting points....

I don't think VIVA has that policy. Looks like they only charge more for that week but do not require a 10 day minimum. http://www.vivacations.com/site/Home/Pr ... fault.aspx
We've used them several times and not had a problem.
In the past i used http://www.Caribbeanvilla.com and they don't have that policy either.
I have always found Destination STJ to be really pricey compared to other rental co's IMHO.
Obviously that week is going to be very expensive compared to other times of the year no matter what you do. You're going to be paying twice as much as you would the two weeks before, but such is life.
That's why we generally celebrate Gromitmas (that's a combo of my birthday and Christmas a little early) the first two weeks in December!! We save a TON of money!!
Good luck!
