St. Thomas Airport question
Is there a first class check in line for Delta? We got upgraded and may check a bag on the way home it there is.
We also normally fly Delta. While not a 1st class ticket, I am Gold Medallion and they do have a 1st Class/Medallion specific line (or at least they did a couple years ago when we came down). However - it really did not seem to be a "priority" for them at all. We were like the 3rd in line and were still in that line around 40 minutes.
Just arrive early, or get the porter as previously suggested. We try our best to stay on "island time" all the way home and not let the ticket line get us down!
Good Luck! Have Fun!

Little known tip, if you are riding with Rachel, have her call her friend 'Daphne" who is a lead porter at the STT airport. Daphne will be waiting for you at the curb and will take your bags and passports back somewhere behind the ticket agents. Something magic happens and in 5 minutes, your passports, boarding passes and baggage tags are handed back to you and she walks you right up to the next immigration booth and you are almost to the gates. Be sure not to look back at the frowning people standing in the lines behind you that you missed.
Well worth the $20 tip especially on busy days at STT.
I NEED a new ticker!

There is a 1st class check in, and let me tell you...it's wonderful.
You have your own queue, but the same people check you in. In 2008, the coach line was 47-miles long. We went to the front of the non-existent 1st Class line and then waited for them to finish up with the people they were helping. We went next and spent 5 minutes on line total. There's no separation once you go inside.

Christopher hooked us up with Daphne in 2008 when the USAir and American systems were down, on a Sunday afternoon in high season. That woman is amazing, she took care of all 9 of us, parted the seas and had us through customs in minutes.rpplano wrote:Little known tip, if you are riding with Rachel, have her call her friend 'Daphne" who is a lead porter at the STT airport.

My husband carried her card in his wallet for two years and we used her again this year.

How do you "use Daphne" - I am renting on STT and will be returning my car on the day of our flight so won't need a taxi but would love the ability to not have to wait in line with my husband how has a LOT of health issues and would be exhausted before we even get to the gate.Connie wrote:Even if you're not riding with Rachael, Daphne is great. We have her card and use it everytime we need to check in. Last time with 12 people, it was a life saver.
