The next day started out early again. Breakfast on the porch and then we were out and about. We headed to the North Shore road this morning but were unsure of where we were headed. As we drove on I got an idea (hardly ever a good one!) and I said let's go to Denis (FIRST!). Charlie was like huh? Never heard of it. So I told him what I knew about it and where to go and he was game.

Now, have been reading a lot about Denis recently but I guess I never read the whole story  When we arrived I said "let's just go check it out first". Somehow along the way I got the idea that there was a path on the right as you go up Peace Hill and then the beach was like "right there". WRONG. It's quite a ways to go and we were more than half way there when we thought should we keep going or go back and get our stuff. All I had with me was a camera. We opted to keep going. It's really a lovely spot but without our stuff we weren't camping there for long. I took some photos, we walked the beach for a while and then it was back up the trail. I considered it my exercise for the day  All before 10am!

After that jaunt we chose Hawksnest. When we arrived there was a wedding that had just ended, lots of photos being taken.

This time we brought our stuff! Hey, does anyone know who won the World Series last year???? Oh never mind .. off topic!

I don't know that there's much to say about this photo. But I could look at it all day.

Walking beaches, swimming, sunning can make a guy thirsty. I noticed Charlie was getting a little parched in the early afternoon. Since we were so close he wanted to go to the Tap Room for a refreshment. Who am I to deny?
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/89321198@N00/4546593471/" title="STJ 2010_001 086 by mbw1024, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/454 ... 769d77.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="STJ 2010_001 086"></a>

Got some curry chicken salad and a loaf of bread at Deli Grotto and then took the lovely North Shore Road back toward Coral Bay. Talking to one of the guys at the Tap Room he said he "commutes" the North shore to work every day. Not a bad way to get to work, huh?

I don't recall anything specific about our afternoon but I'm sure it involved refreshments, pool time and a nap on the porch!

While floating around at Hawksnest we made our evening plans. We needed some things at Starfish and we also were down to about a half tank of gas so we planned to kill several birds with one stone. We headed out about 6:30 and went to Gas Station, Starfish, La Plancha (FIRST!). As we got half way across Centerline we came to realize that they had had quite a bit of rain, the roads were slick. We had not a drop in Coral Bay. And just to make the ride interesting we took Gifft Hill to South Shore. GH is always fun but even better in the rain :)
Turning from Centerline to GH we had to stop to let some pedestrians cross - goat, cow and piggie.

Dinner at LaPlanca was very good. I hope they do well but I will say the location is a little odd to me (2nd floor of Marketplace way back in the corner).
Here are some of our offerings:
Hibiscus Cocktail (not a martini, ask Pete Mr. Marcia)

Panko crusted brie

Seafood something or other

La Plancha - yum! Great food, yummy drinks and desserts. I agree that the location isn't great but they certainly make up for it with their excellent food and the fact that they are great guys.
