San Juan overnight

Post by lavender »

We are flying into San Juan next Friday and should be there by 2:00 - we are staying at the Hampton Inn (for free!) that night and then we leave for STT first thing on Sat AM. What could or should we see and do while in San Juan? Thought about going to Old San Juan - is it a nice area to walk around and see? My neighbor (who was there many years ago) says we will be dying to leave San Juan as it is dumpy and sketchy too. I was kind of looking forward to seeing something new! So what should we see? Or do? Or should we just go to the casino and put it all on the red - win big and then move to St John forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I really enjoyed walking around Old San Juan. El Morro was fantastic, and I'm not really a fort person.

There are a lot of neat old buildings, quaint town squares, and of course, tons of shops and restaurants.
Come see us!

We enjoy old San Juan very much-the forts are interesting, it's very scenic in front of El Morro with the families flying kites on the big lawn-the old cemetery in front of El Morro is actually kind of beautiful, with the water/fort/cemetery views. I think someone posted some pictures here a month or so ago. It's pretty easy walking around though I think there's a free trolley too; food's good and lots of restaurants to choose from. Enjoy!
