I am so sorry I am not very tech savvy at all. Just spent half hour typing to push the wrong key and lost everything. Will attempt short update now.
Heavily overcast this Tuesday Morning. We're up high over Chocolate hole. It's sprinkling now at 830A. We can see three bays and the view of St Thomas is great at night with all the lights. St Thomas is almost completely gone in the clouds right at this time. Looks like it's pouring there. This property has a huge deck and great covered areas so we're able to sit out and not get wet right now even though the sprinkle has turned to rain. No activity down on the Pond Bay development. Somebody had said they heard rumors it was going to pick up this week, but it's the dead zone down there. Looks like a blight on the countryside period at this point. Very quiet up here, very little road noise, just some from the partying neighbors.
Mary beth, sorry missed you but it was Tipsy and Jim who almost ran into you at Maho yesterday. We ended up there as Hawksnest lot looked crazy busy. We planned to go where we could park. Gibney had 3 cars and a taxi in front of the gate and 3 cars on the road. Jumbie had 6 cars. It was 1030a by the way and we didn't try Caneel beaches. Trunk was in an overflow situation. Cinnamon was also. Maho had a spot at the far right end we grabbed. It was generally overcast with some sprinkling during the three hours we were there. Great snorkeling as usual, the 2nd grader was entertained by a barracuda holding court for a few hours in about 2 feet of water just off the rocks on the right side. She put her snorkel and mask on and just stayed planted in the water there. It's like a huge saltwater shallow aquarium there. Funny, I'll mention we visited this beach for years as a it was a favorite of our 13 year olds and never snorkeled there, now it is our best spot next to Secret Harbour. Saw a sea turtle on Friday afternoon at Secret Harbour within 2 minutes of getting in the water there so for me that is as good as it gets. Ok Pouring down buckets of rain so...gonna go ponder our next move if we even have any...can barely see the outline of St Thomas now...but the breeze up here is great...keeping the skeets at bay. They are a presense this trip...the ones that in the house are the worst. They are on a mission, so wearing jeans right now.
Hope everybody has a good day despite the rain...wonder if it's dry somewhere here on STJ???
