Dont know what it looks like on the cams but the weather has been
odd. Lots of cloud cover, threatening at times, but no rain to speak
of here in Coral Bay.
Sitting here on the porch and before i actually had goosebumps
it was that cool and now bright sun so i cant barely see this screen.
Been in and out like that since monday.
This is NOT a complaint, trust me. I actually may never leave this
porch at this rate!

I don't think that anything from the Iceland volcanic ash cloud has reached that far south yet. It is still in Europe headed East and slowly South. According to trade wind patterns the cloud remnants could find their way into the Caribbean eventually via Africa unless the competing US weather fronts are stronger. Lets just hope that they have disappated ALOT by then. If they should wander in it should make for some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Hope it doesn't disrupt flights from the US to STT. Especially next weekend!

Weather.com always says St John... pulldown under "Details" (for current conditions) and radar map appear to be valid for Cruz Bay, St John - 00831.

Don't forget the pull down to "Weather" (down to the bottom) above under "Trip Planning" as well.

... no longer a stranger to paradise
Weather last week was windy/ partly cloudy when the idlanders said it was going to be a washout, the "tropical depression" never amounted to much.
then on Thursday the wind shifter to come out of the southwest and it turned calm & HOT. Best day i've ever seen at solomon beach. barely a ripple, total bluebird skies and the water looked amazing. such a great place. Nobody should stress about the weather.com forecast, it says "showers" every day but thats the tropics. We got drizzled on ONE TIME the entire week and there was supposedly a storm rolling up the Caribbean. ha!

don't worry, i think the caribbean will be safe... montserrat is still erupting and its barely 100 miles away. I dont think iceland is going to have much of a climatic effect over 2000 miles away, not to mention the prevailing wind & weather in STJ is from the southeast. I'd be much more concerned with the possibility of a hurricane in July ;0
