Cost U Less

Post by scubamom5 »

Our group has reserved jeeps with Amalie rentals in STT for late June. We plan on stopping at the Cost U Less to stock up on beer, soda, water and food items on the way to the car barge. Our flight lands on STT at 1:00 p.m. so we have plenty of time to make the ferry. Does anyone have good directions to the Cost u Less and do they take credit cards? Thanks for your help.

Here is a link to Google Maps. The STT airport is west of Cost-U-Less, Red Hook Car Barge Dock is east in Vessup Bay. And yes they do accept credit cards. Not sure about Amex. You can call them at 340-777-3570.

Why not just shop on STJ? We found the prices to be very comparable and the experience to be much better. Also, sign up for an in-store discount card.

Puddlejumper, thanks for the map, but I'm not sure where to turn off the veterans hghwy? RickG perhaps? As for shopping on STJ, we've done that for years, but with 7 kids ages 12 - 20, think BIG boys, we will be picking up cases of drinks and XLGE everything. I'm sure we'll still be stopping at Josephines for greens, Pine Peace, etc. Anyone have driving directions? Thanks

The rental car company should be willing to mark up a map to show you the best way to get there - Dependable did for us.

One advantage to that is that if there's some reason that the "usual" route isn't optimal, or even available, they can provide you with the best current alternative route.

On the map, Veterans will run onto Edward Wilmot without a right or left turn. Then you will turn left off of Wilmot onto Rumer Dr. in front of the cruise ship dock. There is a Stop light there. Follow Rumer until you get to the intersection by McDonalds and turn right onto HWY 38. HWY 38 is Reymouth Rhymer HWY. which Cost-U-Less is on.

Now a foot note. Signs for these roads are not obvious or may not exist. At the intersection of Wilmot and Rumer Dr. there is a Wendys on your right. This will come after passing in front of Yacht Haven Grand.

It really is easy. And if you have a smart phone that can pull up this map, you are set. There are other ways to get there, this is just the one that has fewer turns. Sometimes cruise ship traffic is so heavy I would turn at the end of Veterans and go onto Lovers Ln. to Alton Adams Sr. Dr. to get to 38.

Hope this helps.
