Hey Anthony- a question- how is it you are in Florence while running a blog about STJ? Is the story posted somewhere? I am interested! Spent time in Italy a few years ago- Florence, Tuscany, Ravello, Positano, Amalfi, Capri... amazing. The Amalfi Coast is probably my second favorite place, after STJ of course. You must be living the life!

We started this whole thing about 15 years ago. My in-laws published maps of the Caribbean, and my sister-in-law lives on St. Thomas, so I was there often for work and family stuff. I took the maps and basically made a website (http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/) - one of the first comprehensive sites for the Caribbean (this was 1995) at the time. In 2000 we moved to St. Thomas to further the business along... and then about 5 years later we left, mostly for family reasons (school for the kids especially) - thinking we would spend 10 months in Italy before settling somewhere in the states (I had been both running the websites and a seasonal business on the Jersey shore for 3 years and needed a BREAK)... but have been stuck here since - watching my savings disappear :) !

I'm not sure "stuck" is normally the word one would associate with living in Florence, but I TOTALLY get the $$ drain! You have to love the ride, though..... life well lived I say!
