We're here.....part 3

Post by rpplano »

Friday was the Jost Van Dyke adventure. We followed in the steps of Flipflop and her report/pics were our guide. The ferry was simple and quick, we landed at Great Harbour and caught a Safari taxi to Soggy Dollar. The cab driver was a really neat guy named Gerald and we ended up using him later to get around.
Soggy Dollar was quiet, but Mic was feeling feisty. He's a great guy and has that Smile.

Spent lots of time in the hammock just enjoying the amazing views. Never got the ring in the loop, though.
It's a fixed game!

Next we walked over the hill to Ivan's....advice: wear shoes (so glad we did!). Fairly easy hike just very rocky in places.

Got to Ivan's.....met Ivan; nice conversation with him; another great gentleman; found a hammock & chilled for a little while.

I believe Kenny Chesney slept here!

Called for Gerald, taxi driver, who came very quickly & took us to Foxy's for lunch, which was so good. After lunch we walked very slowly down the dirt road past the little church where we had renewed our vows last May with "Rev. Capt'n Phil". back to where we caught the ferry. U.S. Customs wasn't overly backed up, just a Ritz Carlton Catamarand with about 40 tourists ahead of us. Even so, it went quickly and we were back to our Jeep within 15 minutes.
