Large Villa for December Wedding???
Hi All - My SiL is contemplating having her wedding on STJ in December. One possibility she's considering is renting a large villa at which we can house the families (likely need room for 20 - including some kids) - and also use it as a place to have a reception (beach wedding ceremony beforehand). Any thoughts on a place big enough to do this?
If you can't find a place large enough you could consider renting a couple of houses next to one another.
My only other suggestion is to be up front about the wedding/reception/party part of this booking.
I've noticed many owners expressly stating in their contract that such events are prohibited unless approved in writing by the villa owner. If you fly under the radar you risk getting kicked out and losing any monies paid.
Just be sure to read the fine print and be up front with the rental co's about what you're planning and you should be fine.
Good luck!

*Another fine scatterbrained production
Also, wedding are now prohibited in some HOA rules and, just in case this is of importance to you, there is a 10pm noise ordinance on STJ but there are still many that will rent for weddings but off the top of my head I can't think of any but this might work but only room for 12

I remember on of the large houses we looked at in Peter Bay allowed weddings. The was a grass yard and a free-standing guesthouse off to the side. Can't remember the name. I think it slept 10 but there are certainly plenty of others in the neighborhood for the overflow.
This was back in 2007 so maybe, as Pia mentioned, the HOA changed their rules.

Island Stones looks like a great party house, and could be combined with some nearby houses in Catherineberg:
