Must just be a couple of us!
Very cute ecard! Love the chick at the end.
OK...break time over...back outside! It is delightful in the northeast. Hopefully it will begin to dry up some of the overly wet areas.
Happy EASTER!
I am trying to get my head around the fact that here in Italy, the land of the Pope and the CC - today is a regular work day - when in America it is a holiday! To be fair the Italians do have Monday off.
People may go to church, but it is not an official holiday here (banks, Govt. offices, etc. were open). They have other Catholic/religious holidays that don't exist in America, but not this one - (unless I am getting something very wrong - which is possible
It's not really an official holiday here either, Anthony. Most businesses are open (though not the financial markets), many schools are open. I'm still at work ! (though not working, ha!).
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Is it just Wall Street - or regular banks too? It is a legal holiday in the US, no?
From what I have read, a few local banks across the country may have been closed today. The stock market is always closed on Good Friday; otherwise it is a Christian holiday, not a national one.
Eons ago when I attended secondary school in a rural, entirely Christian area, Good Friday was always a school holiday and there was no "Spring Break". Now many schools plan for Spring Break either the week before or the week following Easter. Break begins in the county where I now live on Monday. Over half the county's high schoolers will migrate to Gainesville's beach on the Atlantic. Our sheriff's department will be sending 17 deputies with them.... I'm not sure it will be a break for them.
It is not a Federal Holiday here. I think banks have the optioin, at least that's the way it used to be. But I don't know too many that closed.
I know very few people who get the day. Charlie still does and he even got paid early this week - that used to be the way because most banks were closed.
I can't believe it's not a holiday in Italy. That is shocking.
I was on a call with a co-worker from Holland yesterday. He had a holiday and was calling in from his camp site (dedicated); they have Monday off, as well.
