I'll work on May. Gives me time to think about a great place. I DO know a fantastic family-owned Tex-Mex lace in Dallas, The owner is a true 'Parrot Head" and JB visits when he is in town. I'll be thinking...

Isn't it so awesome that there are so many folks from this area who love STJ??!!!

Don't worry about who's idea it was....never gonna be able to get a date that works for everybody so work with what the majority can/want to do. If lots of people can meet, go for it! There can always be another fun time later on down the road so maybe others can join in.

It'll be fun whenever & with whoever can be there I'm sure!

SO let's work on both- the April 10th date with the other forum (if they don't mind us crashing) as well as another date- maybe May- that could also work- then everyone can come to the one that works- or both!

Any dates thought of? I cannot do the April 10th

but would love to think of another one in May...... won't be BB but at least it should be pretty then! 1st, 8th, 15th? 22nd is JB at Pizza Hut Park- that would be a great one if anyone is going! Tailgate?

Count us in on whatever y'all decide. We have never seen Jimmy Buffet but a tailgate party before the concert would be a blast!!

JB on 5-22 is starting to look good for a tailgate. Anyone else? Let's just hope the weather is not like it was for KC ( the first go round) last year! Had to "tailgate" in the car and got pulled out of the mud pit by a tractor after the show....

I'm in for either gathering...saw JB last year, decided to pass this year...
laurafranks: I was at that KC monsoon concert, too! Never so wet in all my life! The make up free concert was the best I've ever been to!

rpplano- which restaurant is that that JB sometimes visits?

BeAsUR- I'm just the opposite of you- we skipped JB last year and are so excited he came back this year! Couldn't agree with you more about the KC make-up show- the BEST we have ever been to- and we have seen a LOT of live shows. Didn't he play for about 3 hours? U2, Violent Femmes, Eagles, Bob Marley- just a jam session. Wow. We got upgraded to Sandbar for the 2nd one and were right in front- have some fantastic shots. That monsoon one was incredible too- what an experience! We still talk about it, and I swear I still have mud in my car

BTW- love the Avatar! Hope you can join us for the tailgate at least....

Is a Saturday evening best for everyone? I also could do a Friday or Sunday evening. The restaurant is Desperados, on Greenville at University. Jorge Levy opened it in September 1976 and PIANOGRL and I were some of his first customers while we were dating. He had been the GM of the old Mariano's in Old Town. He arguably invented the frozen margarita from a 7-11 Slurpee machine he had borrowed. His "chef" is still cooking for him and they both have raised families in that place. It is now managed by his son, Jake, who is a true parrothead and a fun guy. We can meet anywhere, but that would be a fun place to start.
Any other suggestions?

Embarrassed to say I have not been to Desperadoes yet, even after attending school right there and living just a few miles away- after that introduction it is now on the must do list! I am up for meeting there if it works- really wherever, whenever! Weekends are best for us- Fri, Sat or Sun.....
