10 days on the rock - part 2
10 days on the rock - part 2
Thursday the plan was to head over to Honeymoon and Salomon but I just couldn't get my motivation gear engaged. Danger Will Robinson you are slipping into Island time! Instead we hung around the house enjoying the views of Coral Bay and the great breezes.
Around mid-day we decided to head over to Haulover North. We'd been there a couple of days ago but the water had been too choppy to swim. Today the weather Gods were with us. The waters were flat, warm and the blue color was heaven sent.
We'd never snorkeled this area before and it turned out to be one of our favorites. The fan coral is outstanding and we saw a couple of turtles which is always nice.
The balance of the day was spent just reading on the beach, listening to the waves crash the shore and sitting next to the love of my life. It just can't get much better.
Eventually it was time to head back to the house. After a quick dip in the pool we decided to head over to Aqua Bistro for dinner. Kate got a chicken pasta dish that was good but did not compare to the blackened Mahi Mahi that I ordered.
Today we got up and decided to give Honeymoon and Salomon a shot. We'd never been there before and while I had a general idea of how to get there I wasn't certain. What to do? Well pull the forum help chain of course! I posted asking specifics on how to get there and in just a few the forum family had come through with directions that even I couldn't get lost with.
Honeymoon was a great choice. It turned out to be everything you folks on the forum said it would be. Just beautiful. We snorkeled out around the point and saw a nice sized Ray and then swam over to Salomon. It was just as lovely as Honeymoon.
The balance of the day was spent doing just what we love to do on STJ, not a damn thing. Laying in the sand, listening to the waves, reading a Robert B. Parker novel and just drifting off to that special state of mind:
"Put all my ambitions at bay, just going to sit by the sea today"
After a few hours of pure bliss we headed home. Dinner tonight was take out from Ship Wreck Landing and was that a good choice. I have to agree with Flip Flop here, the crowds at Ship Wreck in season are nuts, or at least they were tonight.
As for tomorrow I have no idea what it holds for us and that is exactly as it should be on STJ. Just going to let the day unfold.
We're wrapping up the day by watching the NCAA playoffs. I swear I just heard some 4 lettered screams drifting down from up North as Captain Kirk's beloved Ohio State just got knocked off by Tenn., sorry Captain.
As a last note I've been trying to attach pictures but not having any luck as of yet. We've got some great shots and words can't do it justice, especially my words. We just got an IMac Notebook and I'm struggling with the Apple software when it comes to attaching photos. I'm sure it is easy as can be, but hey, I'm technically challenged. If all else fails I may be forced to read the directions but I'm afraid that if I do resort to such a drastic step that 54b may call an emergency meeting of the man club and have my membership card revoked.
Pictures come soon, I think!

Just replied on your Salomon post didn't realize your on island until I saw this, glad ya liked Salomon. Isn't Haulover North an awesome snorkel. Funny ya mentioned the game cause I don't normally watch basketball but I watched the whole game last night. Yep that was me ya heard at the end, great game though
both teams were on their game. Told my wife it was going down to the wire at halftime and the team with the ball last would win. Didn't get it quite right

Another great installment. Aqua Bistro was our favorite in November.
Even with the iMac, you need to upload your pics to Photobucket or somewhere.
I just copy from the camera card to a folder, then upload. You can also import them to iPhoto, but I think you have to export to a file anyway to upload. I don't use iPhoto much.
Can't wait to see what was in store today.
