Check out the NEW ticker!!!

Post by Gromit »

Well, it's official. We're going to can our trip to Europe in exchange for a much more relaxing vacation. Thanks for all the input guys!

I'm going to have a pretty insane 2011 so I've decided that it's more important to go somewhere that will soothe my soul for two weeks-- before my life gets too crazy.

We've decided to stay at Ivans on Jost for week one and then gravitate back to STJ for a week at a villa in Coral Bay (still haven't settled on a place yet but I'm narrowing it down!).

Plus I'll get to celebrate my birthday on island which is one of my favorite things to do!

So folks if anyone plans on being on Jost or STJ December 2-17, I'll see ya there!!

Tipsy, I think you'll find that there's plenty to do on STJ and a week is NEVER enough! I've been visiting regularly since 1996 (sometimes a couple of tims in te same year) and I STILL haven't gotten to all the beaches on STJ. So side trips to Jost add some variety to a familair location for me.

That being said, if you want to get a BVI stamp in your passport and have a painkiller at the Soggy Dollar bar or visit Foxy's then a trip to Jost would be fun.

Keep in mind that it's $60 pp R/T on the ferry for about 5 1/2 hours on Jost. For some that cost benefit analysis is just fine, for others it may not be.

I like Jost because it's generally a much slower pace than STJ (except for the party scene around the Soggy Dollar bar). But that's just me.

our first trip to STJ was 10 days and while we talked about going to JVD we never got around to it. we did get there the 2nd trip and then skipped it on the 3rd. it's tentative for this trip.
I'd say know what days you can get the ferry and then just see how it goes!

Hey Gromit!
I'm 99% sure that Mr. Lovermont and I will be back in Coral Bay from December 7 to 16. I hope we see ya then. We can raise a drink (or 10) to you on the 13th and then do the same for DH on the 15th.
I'm glad you arrived at your decision.
