St. John to Anegada
St. John to Anegada
What's the best way, or with whom, for a day trip to Anegada? Thanks!!!
I don't think you can do it from STJ. We did a day trip to Anegada when we were staying on Tortola a few years ago. We flew out of the airport at Beef Island. I know there are ferries from Tortola and Virgin Gorda but I think they leave too early to get there from STJ. I don't think you'll find any boats that you could charter that will do it because it's too far to do in a day trip time frame. Sailing would take too long and power boat would burn LOTS of gas to get there and back.
See this thread started by Pia about 1x month ferry that was available. She went end of July (noted at end of thread). Dont know if this is still available.

St John To Anegada
Diana2 is right. We have been going to St John for years and hearing about the beautiful beaches but we could not get there for the day. So last year we stayed on Tortola and one of our goals was to get to Anegada. We took the ferry out of Road Town and it does leave early stopped in Virian Gorda and went on to Anegada from there. It was a wonderful day with friendly people and great beaches like Cow Wreck and Loblolly. We wished we could have spend the night especially after traveling all that way. Anyway you can also get there from St Thomas by small plane if you have the big bucks but that was not in the budget.

I completely forgot about this, jmq. To spend a few short hours on Anegada and suffer three hours (one way!!) on a ferry doesn't sound good to me. Different strokes for different folks.jmq wrote:See this thread started by Pia about 1x month ferry that was available. She went end of July (noted at end of thread). If you are 5 or 6 people and are all splitting it a charter (flight) from St. Thomas is not really that expensive - we did it in 2005 - if you start here:

and keep clicking the links to the left of the "Main" link in the middle of the page you'll find a lot of info on the island.
