Checked liquor on planes
Checked liquor on planes
Has anyone flown American Airlines recently who knows whether they charge a fee for checking your liquor boxes? I mean that do they consider it a checked piece of luggage over and above what you are allowed? Last year when we flew, the airlines were not doing that because it would hurt the sale of liquor. Thank you so much.
Checked
When we returned late January the checked boxes were not counted as baggage at check-in. However, if you bought some at the store beside the gate, the box counted as a carry on- meaning it was one of your two carry-ons allowed. We saw a man who had to, at the instruction of the folks at the gate, try to stuff the booze box into a large roll aboard that he had, in addition to a shopping bag. Finally, another passenger offered to carry it on for him.

Just got back -1 AM-long day..
Flew American and 2 boxes-the agent only let us take 5 bottles in each ??-no Cruzan Rum ?
no charge for them-had to stick one Stoli orange in checked suitcase..
However, daughter flew home today on Delta-
had a 3 pack box that they insisted be checked-
made her sign a waiver in case anything happened to it--
news flash-
they broke all 3 bottles !!
Absolut Tropics,Pasoa, and a cheap vanilla rum she didn't like !!
Her Mount Gay vanilla made it home safe with us !!
