Woohoo! A flip flop thread!

You all have got some nice flip flops here but as for hiking sandals, I love these Keens.

The only thing is, Keens aren't cheap so you have to make sure you're going to wear 'em a lot, in my opinion.[/url]

Flip flop- they are SO comfortable. Keen also has flip flops styles that still have the little toe protector things. They are surprisingly cute. :)

J Crew has some fun flip-flops :)
Try J crew on line if they don't have them in the stores - they have them with Limes on, boats on, flamingos, hippos, etc- cute, cute, cute

I wear Chaco's all of the time (especially now that it is warmer).

While vacationing in New England, I discovered Leatherman flip flops. They are similar to the J Crew critters but much better quality.

The company is based in Essex Conn and makes belts, bags, etc in addition to the flip flops. They last forever. I have an "everyday" and "going-out" pair.

My favorite has a pink web base with navy blue grossgrain ribbon that is stitched with an outline of Block Island.

I have to reinforce the Keen flip-flops...LOVE THEM! In warmer weather they are all I wear and on island they are great for the little rock scrambles getting to some of the more remote beaches, like Waterlemon...the little toe protector is perfect for doing what it is intended to do. I get alot of comments and compliments on them but seeing the new model at Zappo's site makes me realize I need at least a new pair or two!...also Zappo's is a great source online!

Flip Flops my second favorite thing in the whole world!! Can you guess what number 1 is????????

I can't believe none of you have Croc flip flops.
They are the best!!!! Very soft heel....just like you're walking on air! I have 3 pairs now! They come in a bizillion colors, and are coming out with new styles for this year.

I love Zappos.com too! FREE SHIPPING BOTH WAYS---and no tax! You gotta love it! I live in the middle of nowhere--2 hours from Little Rock; 3 hours from Memphis; 2.5 hours to Springfield, MO. Once I know what size I wear in a brand I like, I feel comfortable ording shoes online.

I really like Keen flip flops. They are as comfortable as walking shoes and no problem getting them wet. In fact, the labels say you can throw them in the washer when they are dirty. I bought a couple pairs last summer that I wore all season. I liked them so much, I'm sure I'll buy more this year. I took both pairs to STJ in Feb.[/u]

The best flip flops

Post by parafins »

I am a 42 year old guy.Last June while on a drive out to the east end I had the urge to relieve myself{blatter}.So I pulled over, jumped out of the jeep barefoot on hot payment. Not a good idea! So I see this pair of discarded girls flip flops along side the road.So I put them on, trotted over to do my thing while my family is laughing and shooting video of me.Yes I may have looked silly, but I saved my feet from pain. Also I removed litter from the road.{I left those flip flops at San Constanso for the next guest.}Parafins :D

99% of my flip flops are from J Crew (I am beginning to think you and I were separated at birth...), but on a trip to St. John, I ruined a pair while in town and was forced to buy a new pair on the spot. The only pair the store had was what I considered to be an "expensive" pair of flip flops ($25). I grumbled, I groaned, but I had no choice. It was that or go barefoot. So, I bought them. That was 4 years ago. I still wear them almost daily (when weather permits!). They are not very cute, but they are simply the most comfortable and most durable pair I have ever had. I have worn them constantly for 4 years and I swear they still look new. These are my "daily wear" in my flip flop closet, while my J Crew flops still serve as my "fashion wear" when I need something cute.

They are made by Scott Hawaii. I LOVE THEM!!!!

Here's what the ad says (who knew??): "1. arch support 2. heel cup (stop walking OUT of your flip flops) 3. iconic NON-SLIP volley outsole (reduce slippage on wet surfaces) 4. Durability is also a key factor, and this sandals thong is made to last 5. FLOATS in the water 6. designed to dry quickly, making it all the more ideal for the beach or poolside The straps of a Scott Hawaii slipper are made from a TUBULAR NYLON which enables it to roll with the foot when walking. Dont you just hate those one-piece nylon straps that are abrasive and rub your foot after a long day on the beach?"

Speaking of abrasive straps that rub your foot, one day I'll have to tell you about my Reef Bay Hike that I did on my FIRST morning of my FIRST ever trip to St. John....I wore flip flops......

Vicki, I am sure of it now. We were definitely separated at birth. I wonder why mom put you up for adoption but not me :)
