No worries Waterguy, we are keeping it clean here (at least on this thread). The doughballs of death are these little round balls of dough, fried up and served warm with a sweet poppy seed butter. I can feel my arteries clogging just thinking of them.

Hey Tom,
Let's ask them if they know what Kringle is. :)

I'm right with you. Our trip in the first week of Dec. The funny thing, we are more excited about going back to St. John than we are planning our wedding for Oct. 20. I'm 40 years old and never been married and boy is this work! I tried talking him into getting married on Hawksnest but our family would be so mad at us if we did that. My father is in his 70's and can't travel and he said he has waited too long for this to miss it. So we have a long summer ahead of us waiting for the big day and also for St. John. Any advise to getting through all of this????

DC I was in your boat last year. You will be SO glad to be hitting STJ after that wedding! Good luck to you, the day will be wonderful - don't worry!

Gromit, I feel your pain. We just decided that we aren't going to STJ in November this year, but will wait until next April... It doesn't stop me from checking this forum all the time, but I can't even check for airfare because it's too far away! Hope that gives you some perspective that December isn't that far away. Plus, you only have to survive a warm summer at home -- we have to survive a whole summer AND winter with no stj trip.

I think I'm so depressed now that I don't think I can go to work tomorrow......

I know what Kringle is! My Executive Director is from Wisconsin and he brings one to the office after every trip home. You haven't seen anything disappear so fast! YUM!

MR. Flip Flop doesn't mess around with food. And the doughballs of death (aka Ozzy rolls) rock!

It's so nice to know that I am not alone in my Funk. Sorry, but I don't know what else to call it -- so Funk seems to work.

It was a lovely evening here in Arlington last night. I met hubby for some sangria and tapas down the street before heading home. It was warm and there was a nice breeze. It wasn't STJ but I realized that it's important to "be present" and enjoy the little moments, knowing that the best moments are still on the horizon.

Hopefully the trip to Vegas and a suite at Bellagio in three weeks won't hurt either!!
Alas though... Vegas still isn't STJ. What was I thinking?

Gromit,
We are going to Vegas on May 5 for the Elton John show on the 8th. Husband bought the tickets for me last Christmas. Las Vegas is probably the last place I would plan to visit, but there is an amazing story connecting Sir Elton, Melissa and me. How could I refuse? It was such a sweet and sentimental gift.
Any how, I,m curious as to what led you to stay at Bellagio. Right now we are trying to decide between Bellagio and the Venetian. Maybe you can shed some light and help me to make the final cut  ....mia

Shoot! Yesterday was about 80 degrees here and I pulled out my Tevas, which hadn't been worn since we left STJ in December. They were still somewhat caked with sand. Saint John sand! Francis Bay sand. Make you cry like sand in your eyes sand! Now they're calling for a low in the 20's this weekend and a high in the low 40's on Easter Sunday. WAAAAA!! I gotta get outta' dis place!

Oooooh! I think my Tevas are still in my dive bag from November. I bet there's good island karma still lingering. I'll have to put them on while I SCRAPE THE ICE OFF MY TRUCK THIS WEEKEND!

Cheers, RickG
