Need Trip Report Fix

Post by Agent99 »

We're officially 28 days to our trip and I'm having trouble thinking of anything else. Because I look at the board only periodically throughout the year (sometimes it's just too painful) I miss a lot of good trip reports.

If you posted a trip report this year if you have a favorite would you post a link here? I'd love to kill a few weeks enjoying others' vacations.

Hey Anthony, sometime when you're noodling around with the board maybe we could have a trip report section by date like the restaurant reviews listed. Might be fun to have one stop trip report shopping.

Vicki H’s report from June:

and her sailing adventure from December (I think?)

part one:

part two:

http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... hp?t=14929

Gromit’s version of the same sailing adventure from December (this is a link to the last part, but the links to the beginning parts are at the top of this post):

Mine from June (again, this is a link to the final installment, but the links for parts 1 and 2 are at the beginning of this post):

Not a trip report, but while searching for someone’s report I came across this thread of beach pictures:

The oldie but goodie “post your best picture” thread:

And this link to a gallery of forum member Ken’s amazing USVI/BVI photos…some of the best I have seen:

I know how you feel. I need more trip reports! We were supposed to be down this month, but had to push to April. I am having St. John withdrawal!
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

If you search Umbrella and Drink and Tour, you'll find mine from November; about 5 installments.

Trip reports

Post by Knolmom »

Just got back last Friday, still moping around trying to get things together. Will post a trip report later this weekend when the wind kicks up and the snow begins to fall. Thats when I will be searching the boards and sites looking for a villa for a trip later this summer.

Our October/November trip went fast without many pics... the report reflects that fact. Fun for me to remember though....

Edited to add two of my favorites (not recent - had to search a bit)

We are only 16 days out and it's all we can think about, especially since we are expecting 12-24 inches of snow this weekend.

Thank you so much! I did catch both Vicki and Gromit's versions of the sail trip. ...really fun reads! Now I'm off to find the rest. You folks are the best!

A little update on our end. We have Gallows booked for all but our first night which we thought we'd spend on STT again this year. Hopefully drama free this year. Well a few weeks ago I had a few delusions of grandeur and thought we might have enough Amex reward points for a night at the Ritz and the reservations desk gave me false hope. They don't accept Amex rewards and they're sold out now anyway. Oh well.

Since we had such a nice experience at Frenchman's Reef last year that is a possibility but we can also get a free night at the following :

Wyndham Sugar Bay
Bolongo Beach
Pt. Pleasant Resort
Bolongo Beach
Sapphire Beach Resort

Any thoughts?

Never actually stayed in a room and Bolongo just a condo next door. Spent most nights over at their bar..decent food . I liked the resort &I would stay there one night if someone could say the rooms were clean..I am a little picky here.
