Attacked by a deer at Trunk Bay!!!
I think these guys have the right idea, although if the critters are skinny it may not work out well. I think this is the usual solution to animal overpopulation...eat them! As SJ said, the local restaurants could benefit too...SJfromNJ wrote:Sign me up Tom. Shotguns, rifles, or bow? Have the same deer population prob. on Long Island,so there are designated "deer hunting" times and only with bow & arrows. We also have to worry about the deer tick which brings alot of lyme disease. So maybe the National Parks could do the same on STJ.
We get them on our beaches too, walking right on your blankets looking for food, that's cause, despite the numerous signs all over warning you not to FEED THE DEER or any wild animals and the fines that are levied. People still think it's adorable to do so, so the "wild" animals then get used to being fed and lose their natural ability to forage for food and go into human areas looking for it. The signs are there for reasons, not out of cruelty to animals.
Glad that this story ended well & good for "grandma" for being such a good sport. Gotta love the ingenuity of kids !!
