Thanks everyone!
Vicki - it doesn't get any better than the RockEm SockEm Robots- as long as you are playing them ON STJ... They are not really all that in NJ, I can assure you
Bigcheeze - buying that Canon D was one of the best things we did! I was toying with the idea for a while- but didn't bite the bullet until the night before we left! It was so easy to use- and it's so much more relaxing when you don't have to worry about a camera on the beach - or in a kayak. We soaked it in warm tap water for 2 hours every night- then dried it THOROUGHLY.
P-600... I think I do remember you and your family... was your husband in the water - and you in the sand with your son playing Frisbee??? Isn't it a small world?!

Maggy - I have used - and I suspect many of the photos you see that seem to "pop," software to enhance & finesse them. That said, I will tell you that I just joined Google's Picasa and have used their "I'm Feeling Lucky" one-click editing tool on some of the shots- specifically the underwater ones. It is unbelievable to say the least! It's fascinating - for many of the underwater photos, it was like a veil of murkiness had been lifted - revealing such detail! I don't fault the camera - because evidently, the information and detail was captured to begin with. Why not take those photos you'd already have and try the Picasa software... and that "I'M FEELING LUCKY" button and other tools, if necessary... you might just be amazed at what you already have!
Thanks for your reply. I should have been more clear what we were not happy about. Many pictures came out blurry and unsharp, both above and under water. That's strange, as normally that doesn't happen too often and the camera also have a function for reducing the risk of unsharp pics.lpowmacback wrote:Maggy - I have used - and I suspect many of the photos you see that seem to "pop," software to enhance & finesse them. I also have an editing program and it really helps the uw pictures to improve with just one click.
So we are going to give the camera another trip before we say if we are (or hubby is since it's his) happy or not with it. I really love my Canon Powershot A720IS and hope it will last a long time.
