Lavender Hill

Post by Pickle »

We realized we could extend our vacation on St. John for 4 days and have just reserved Lavender Hill (2W) for our final 4 days on the island (the villa where we will be staying is booked for those dates).

Okay, it would've been wise for me to ask this before we booked it, but... could anyone give us recent feedback on Lavender Hill?

We just wanted a nice and clean place in town with a view where we can walk to restaurants/bars. We are aware that we'll hear some noises - ferries and such. Living on a busy street in NY, I think we can handle the noise.

We have never stayed in Cruz Bay. Looking forward to seeing what it's like. Well, my husband can finally drink outside our villas. He never drinks when he knows he has to drive, and he is always "the designated driver" - not me .

Although we didn't stay there, my wife and I toured a couple of Lavender Hill units last month. They were lovely. You should be pleased.

You'll be thrilled!!! At least we are! We have stayed at LH for years and can't recommend them enough! The walk to town is a HUGE bonus...if you like a cocktail or two...just sayin'!

You have come to the right place.

We stay at Lavender Hills every year when we go down. We just happened to stay in 2W for a couple of days last May after extending our stay and our unit 5W was booked for those days. 2W has a large wrap around deck which you can get on either through the bedroom or living room. They have everything you need to make your stay flow easy.

View: Great view over looking Cruz Bay. Great for early morning as you can watch Cruz Bay come alive.

Noise: I don’t know but I don’t pick up on it. Ferry every now and then, and where you are located it is nothing.

Location: Can’t beat it. After a day at the beaches we park the jeep and hustle down for happy hours and hours and hours. Your hubby will be that much more relaxed not having to drive. It is a short 2 minute walk. The steepest hill you climb is one little part of the drive way. I am usually up at 6 am and walking into Cruz Bay for my coffee and the local paper. Get back and sit on the deck and enjoy the moment.

You have nothing to worry about. You made a good choice. Now go enjoy your time on the island.

We stayed there in November and were very happy with it. The place was clean, the people (those who we saw which were very few) were pleasant, and the close proximatey to town was great for stumbling home at night. I would definetely recommend it!

Thank you very much for all the info.

We booked it in a hurry to lock the accommodations for the extra 4 days, so we would feel confident buying plane tickets while they were still a good deal. Hurried=not enough research; hence, the little concern afterwards... but looks like we don't need to worry.

I'm sure that the way back UP to LH is nothing compared to the way back UP from the waterfront in Charlotte Amalie to The Green Iguana Hotel. After a few drinks, it was a CLIMB.

Have never seen Cruz Bay waking up in the morning. Looking forward to experiencing that.

Thanks again!

and if you happen to be out a little late and the Beach Bar bathroom has reached its point of no return, it is nice having LH 2 minutes away.
