Jost Ferry

Post by iowaguy »

I've never taken the ferry before. I was just planning on showing up for the 8:30 ferry on a Saturday morning (January 30). Do I need to make a reservation? Thanks.

We did not have reservations for our trip November 1. It was a slow, rainy Sunday and the ticket office opened around 8:15. We were lucky to get the last parking space in the small lot beside the ferry/office.

Have a great trip!

I too have never made ressies but I don't think they'd turn you away if they did.

Don't forget to bring a pen so that you can fill out the paperwork. Blue or black ink only.

Also they take CC's, including Amex.

One more thing. Listen carefully to the folks when they tell you to get on the boats.

Last time we ferried to Jost there was one family that was SO ANXIOUS to get on the boat and get THE PERFECT seats ahead of everyone else (in fact they pushed some people out of the way in the process)that they got on the wrong boat.

Have to admit that some of us giggled just a litle bit when they had to give up their seats and change boats. That's Karma for you. 8)

You're gonna have a blast!!
