Is Asolare still on shaky legs or are they good now? I remember reading awhile back that they were all cash. Is that still the case...anyone know?

I am also curious. We have a "do new things" goal this trip and that is one restaurant we never tried in 15 years.

Asolare lives!
After a summer in which several of the island's upscale restaurants wrestled with ownership and management chaos, things are settling down.

Asolare, called by Fodor's "The most beautiful and elegant restaurant" on the island is operating under an experienced hand. Winston Bennett, who launched the operation located above Cruz Bay harbor, is again calling the shots. Initial reviews are positive.

We ate there in December and were thrilled with our meals (after so-so experiences last June and \Dec. 2008a).

There are new chefs and everything was delicious! Most of the wait staff is the same so the best mix of the old and the new!

We were there earlier this month. They take credit. They made us wait in the bar 20 minutes for our table which was unoccupied the entire time. Otherwise the food was good but the wine prices were outrageous. $79 for a La Crema Pinot Noir that you can buy at Costco for less than $10! That's just price gouging the tourists. I'd recommend Waterfront Bistro, Lime Inn or Zozos before Asolare any day.
