it was really good and substantial enough for Charlie not to miss meat. I grilled the mushrooms before assembling the dish.

2 more SB friendly dishes coming up in a few minutes! Stay tuned :)

This soup made the rounds of a bunch of folks over on Facebook so thought I'd share it here.
This is a SB friendly soup that seems to pack a lot of flavor.
Ground beef and Sauerkraut Soup

Recipe here:

And this will be portable breakfast for Chaz this week.
Spinach and leek egg bake. I used a recipe as a guide but added my fav. mustard from STJ Spice and also Calypso sprinkle.

Soup does look good Mary Beth - may have to give it a try. Have been spending a lot of time on Kalyn's blog.

Got some fake stuffed cabbage in the crock pot, chili on the stove, and getting ready to do a spinach/onion egg bake for breakfasts.

CG - I was waiting for someone to use Avatar for their avatar

I have that soup on the stove right now; smells delightful.

Those spinach/onion bake things are wonderful for breakfasts, by the way.

Week two of SB starts tomorrow. Very happy with results from week one.

Mary Beth - the leek, spinach and egg casserole looks delicious. I looked at the recipe that your provided the link for (thanks!) , and thought I might make this for dinner one night. Any suggestion on what would be could to serve alongside it?

That would be a great dinner if you ask me! I think the recipe says serve with some sour cream which might be nice. For a side I'd likely just do a nice salad with and olive oil dressing. One simple salad I love is baby greens with mandarin oranges and red onions. YUM :)

Mary Beth - too funny, that is the salad I made yesterday, with walnuts added, to go along with our lasagna. I finished it off today for lunch. :)

I made comforting food today for the group here to watch a game I knew we were going to lose. So, I made a big pot of Jasper White's cherrystone clam chowder last night, to let it cure and taste even more delicious today. Chowder is so good and comforting. I also made these huge popovers:

So, my fellow New England fans, how about those Red Sox?
