Still only 1 car ferry working and schedule impact?

Post by casco »

Earlier in the week, I was told that 2 of the 3 car ferries were broken thus leaving only 1 boat to ferry us back to STJ. Is this still the case?

If so, seems like things would be running on the hour instead of every 1/2 hour and lines could be worse than normal.

What times in the AM are peak to return to STT and are to be avoided?

It's not as bad as it might be; there are two barges operating, the Mr. B. and the General, both owned by Boyson Inc. The Mr. B is BIG, which helps a lot. On a regular schedule, they leave every hour on the half hour, but they now seem to just doing turn-arounds as fast as they can. I haven't heard any horror stories since early December. In general, the 8-9 AM runs would be the ones to avoid in the morning headed to STT, and the 4-5 PM are probably the worst coming this way.
