Pam's Trip Report Part 3
Pam's Trip Report Part 3
Saturday, 11/28
The bugs were out at sunrise! The little buggers were vicious. Drank coffee and waited for everyone else to crawl out of bed.

Cooked breakfast for the whole crowd - scrambled eggs with Italian sausage, bagels and English muffins, Bloody Marys and beer - gotta love vacation! Hung around the pool and enjoyed the view. Wheels up at 1200, heading for Francis Bay.
Headed across Centerline Road to the North Shore. Of course we had little idea where we were going but we had a map and we had read about Francis Bay and it sounded like a good destination. We found a beach and two places to park and called it good.

After we piled out and settled in we found out from our neighbors on the beach that we had found Maho. Francis Bay will wait for another day.

The bugs were pretty intense here. This narrow beach had nice shade (that could be enjoyed once you were sufficiently covered with bug spray) and some good snorkeling at the point on the right. There were turtles and tons of tiny fish that we later found out are called silversides. I saw a good sized moray eel. Pretty cool.
Got hungry mid-afternoon and decided to find Skinny Legs. No problem finding it, finding a place to park was another story. We finally squeezed in and easily found a place for 8 of us in the restaurant. I’m still not sure where all the people were that went with those vehicles in the parking lot. The waitress was from Maine - actually, we ran into a lot of Maniacs on this trip! They’ve definitely got the right idea. At Skinny’s, we enjoyed a burger ($10-$12 depending on how foo foo you got) and $3 Presidente. Had our picture taken by a nice couple sitting at the next table.

Home for a dip in the pool then 6 of us headed out for Mongoose Junction. Found parking easily and checked out the Tap Room. The place was busy and gearing up for beer pong. Grabbed a beer and moved along. We moved on to Morgan’s Mango where they set us up with a nice round table right at the front which was very nice. The service was great and the food was good - grilled tuna salad, swordfish, salmon. We intended to go back another night but ran out of time. Back up the hill to our villa for a nightcap and some star gazing.

Actually, what you found is Maho Bay. Little Maho is between Maho Bay and Francis Bay. It's accessible from Maho Bay Camps. Looks like you'll have to return to tick Little Maho off of your list!pegoode wrote:
