BVI Trip

Post by PJV356 »

We have a group eight traveling to St. John in May and are looking to take a trip to the BVIs. My wife and I have been there before but those traveling with us have not, so we were hoping to visit both The Baths and Jost Van Dyke in one day. First question is this possible? And second what charter would you recommend?

Thanks,

I can highly recommend Captain Kevin on Born to Rhumb. We go out with him every year and it's always our best day! borntorhumb.com [/list]

I second the recommendation for Capt Kevin, Born to Rhumb.

Yes, you can do both. It's just more travel time on the water since the Baths are farther away.

Have a great trip! We'll be down May 8th-22nd so maybe our paths will cross.

Take care!

You'll have plenty of time...Last year, we did the Baths, lunch on the Willy T, visit to Sandy Spit, snorkeled the Indians, and went to the Soggy Dollar with plenty of time to spare. Brought a tent and slept on the beach at Ivans and took the ferry back...Awesome...Did this with Lion in Da Sun..Josh is great!

Another vote for Lion in Da' Sun. They'll work with you to exceed your expectations - really good guys!

Captain Kevin, borntorhumb.com. Great guy, very flexible and just easy to deal with in general.

We actually did a wonderful day trip that hit the Baths, Cooper Island, AND Jost in the same day. The key is the winds and seas the day of your trip. Your captain will tell you whether or not it is possible that day given the weather conditions. Trust me, if the seas are up, you may want to save The Baths for your next trip and enjoy a few more cocktails at Jost. Not only would heavy seas make for a bumpy ride, but a slow one too. I'd prefer to spend my time wisely at various places closer to home if a future visit is in the cards for you.

Besides, there is so much to see closer to St. John that missing the Baths the first time around wouldn't be a tradgedy. The Indians, The Caves, Sandy Cay, the Willie-T, and on Jost itself you could spend a few days hopping around that island too.
