car rental week of Dec 27-Jan3 on STJ

Hey all..
I know Russ had mentioned that there were no car rentals that week on STJ so he is renting on STT. My dilemma never occured to me, even after reading his posts, til last night.
When we daytrip to STJ for the day, we rent a car for the day.
My question is...
Do they keep a few cars for one day rentals, or do you think they are completely out of cars period for that whole week?

No they do not hold cars back just for day use nor do they take one day bookings

Just wanted to clarify that they DO rent cars for the day because last time we were there we got off the ferry and walked over to one of the agencies and rented one for the day with no problem.
I am sure it depends what they have available, etc..Guess I will call around and see what they say..I know availability is tight that week. If we have to we will just pay a taxi to be private for the day, we have done that in the past as well and works out fine..

Let me clarify - yes they do rent cars for the day - they dont take advanced bookings for a day - they only rent if they happen to have one available and sometimes it will be that a car is returned early that day and is due out later that day at say at 4:30pm - 5:30pm so in that case you luck out.
