your thoughts on "garden by the sea" and "st

Post by jimbob »

Coming to USVI to visit our son who has been living on St. Thomas the past few years. My wife and I thought we would stay on St. John for a couple of days rather the whole time on St. Thomas. So we need a place just for 2 or 3 nights. What are your thoughts on these two properties?

Hi Jimbob
I have never been to Garden By the Sea, but I took a quick look at Travel Advisor and they get rave reviews. We visited the Frank Bay area during our trip this year and talked to Elaine who has the studio there. She said there is good snorkeling off the beach and it is nice for swimming (no shade there). Being able to walk into town would be nice if you like to walk. It eliminates the parking issue.

You might also want to check out Cruz Views. It doesnt look like Garden by the Sea has a pool. If you want a pool, Cruz Views might be an option and its a bit less expensive. We took a look around the Cruz Views property this year and it has beautiful landscaping, nice views and pool area. The units look basic, but gets (mostly) very good reviews on this forum.

It looks like the name of your second one got cut off, so you might want to post again with the name.

Happy trip planning!

Jimbob - what is the second place listed? It's cut off in your subject.

Can't help you with Garden by the Sea; I did look into it a few years ago and it got good reviews.

We stayed at Estate Lindholm Thanksgiving week. They have a website and I think a 3 night minimum. Worth looking into. When we're not at the Westin we stay here.

We stayed at Garden By the Sea and had a lovely time. Convenient to Cruz Bay but far enough to feel private. Also stayed at one of the Star Villa spots and that was nice as well.

Garden by the Sea

We have stayed at GBTS twice. We had a very nice stay. They provide a very good breakfast that kept us full through lunch with a little snack. Very quiet and close to Cruz Bay for dinner and night life. The hosts were very friendly, answered all questions and gave they're opinions on excursions/beaches. The outside showers are awesome too!!
