First timers going to Cruz Bay villa next week.....
don't know if this has changed in the past few weeks, but when we were down in mid-November, Starfish's selection was severely limited because of the construction going on -- it was more like a convenience store! We scooted over to Dolphin, and it was great. We usually like Starfish for ease-of-use (parking, etc.), but we were impressed with Dolphin's selection and prices.
We're not full-on "cooler people", but lately we've been bringing a few packages of frozen chicken and steak with us; it's more a quality issue than a price issue, although it's nice that it does save money as well. Back on our first trip, the raw chicken I'd bought at Starfish was, um.....borderline.
And that's not exactly what you look for in chicken...

@thebin-- you can drink the water and use the ice on STJ.
Most villas have filtration systems and I never buy bottled water or ice unless it's for convenience.
After 13 years of travel to the VI's I have NEVER gotten sick from drinking tap water at the villa or anywhere else.

*Another fine scatterbrained production
