Women Gone Wild! SOTB III day 8- The Breath

Post by sea-nile »

Friday, November 6, 2009 as told by Wounderwoman
The whole group went on a sailing trip with Breath. Breath is one of the first tall ships in the Caribbean and was actually built on St John. It has been owned by its original builder and sails year round with a regular crew. It was a beautiful day even though there was not a lot of wind. The wind did pick up between rain squalls but nothing could put a damper on our last full day on the island (or in this case, immediately off shore of our favorite island) We enjoyed a gorgeous day and had a wonderful time. We sailed to Newfoundland Bay snorkeled along the reef, saw turtles in the distance and experienced our first experience with jumping off the boat, donning gear in the water and then getting back into the dinghy in open water. For those who have always fantasized about renting a dinghy and exploring the island, I might suggest entering the dinghy on the beach as opposed to having to try to manage this feat unless you are in fantastic physical shape. After lunch, we continued onto Flannigan with the understanding that there would be a ladder alternative to the dinghy. Several opted to remain on the boat. The snorkeling was good as we went between large rocky crevices, around the point and back to the boat. The ladder was only slightly less demanding than the dinghy as it followed the curved rib of the hull. We relaxed, bantered with the crew about the advantages of soaking raisins, and sailed homeward with an opportunity to have our picture taken from the infamous dinghy.

Once back on firm land, we headed to Skinny’s for dinner, a few drinks and a little shopping. We returned to the villas to complete our packing and say farewell to a wonderful Villa and another memorable week. The last night is always bittersweet as it is filled with new memories that were shared with new and old friends and the sad reality of how long it is to our next adventure.

That was Wounderwoman’s version, but the real truth is that we were a little wild that day! The captain and first mate told us that we could get a free t-shirt if we went snorkeling in the buff! Well, I do love my t-shirt and I don’t know about the rest, but we can’t show those pictures!
Another thing she left out was how the first mate (no names here), volunteered to be our pool boy that night. He he. The drinks were a flowing and let me tell you it was one wild night! First the wet t-shirt contest with our new shirts, then the skinny dipping…

AND the truth about the eye… Well, we were a little more wild at Skinny’s than you all thought. There was this woman there who was cutting in line when I was trying to get us all some painkillers. I was NOT going to stand for that so I put my mean devil face on and we had a brawl right there in the middle of everyone. I may have received a black eye, but SHE was hurting, let me tell you. Her cutsie little Princess outfit…. Gag me. When the SOTB sisters finally got me under control, we headed back home but they decided that I needed a visit to the clinic.

Here are some pictures from the Breath trip. I am picking from Wounderwoman’s, Maggy’s and JoAnn VA.

Maggy's:
We saw this in the water while waiting for the boat to come. Does anyone know what it is?

They bought me a patch for my eye and Maggy took a picture:

Then we went back to the villa and... can't show those pictures!

OK, OK, so the part I wrote was maybe fiction, but we thought that the report could use some spicing up! We didn't want to appear too boring. No nudity and no pool boy, etc., no fight. Maybe next year??

Tomorrow, the last day and I will post some villa pictures.

You got me

I'm reading and thinking - good thing I wasn't there; not sure what I would do if everyone got naked including the pool boy. Yup - my inner prude would have definitely come out!

Glad to hear you got a day on the water. Now how about some "getting in the dinghy" pics?

Wow, wow, wow! That photo taken from the water of the mast in the clouds (or was that water spots on the lens - I digress) is absolutely gorgeous and the one of the first-mate (?) up on the mast is spectacular too.
