Chopper over Maho yesterday

Post by Bill in Va »

Hi there. My bride and I were at Maho and a chopper from St Thomas was buzzing the beach area slow and taking pic's and video. I have field glasses and could see them. They did the slow fly bye and then went over towards Water Lemon and then came back....I was going to put that in my TR but after reading the Maho article I was wondering if this will be part of it...More to come....God bless..Bill

Bill...the chopper came over here to Coral Bay area also. Did quite a few rounds from Bordeaux Mt toward Skinny Legs and then up above Aqua Bistro along Costanzo's Rd ( AKA Lower Bordeaux Rd)...we had a villa gravity day, in which we also had the pleasure of watching 6 cement trucks run up that road to a new (BIG!) villa toward the top. WHO knew watching cement truck could be so ENTERTAINING...I will save that for my TR !!!

It was the DEA doing it's marijuana eradication fly overs - they were all over Coral Bay as well and have been over STX and STT also - it happens every so often

That was the DEA with the National Guard looking for weed (marijuana) farms. I understand they found quite a few.

I WONDERED ABOUT THAT?

It was a dark, no ID, no ad kind of helicopter ... I DID think government at one point as they seemed to concentrate on specific areas, that they checked out. I could see a person looking out the open door but not specific enuf to see a camera...good point Pia...hmmm?

I'm sure that the farms they found were growing for medical purposes only, right? It can be quite a great tax base for states here.

Same on Nantucket island during the summer. Seems as though our tax $$$ could be better utilized. Laurie

The fly overs fro Ganji,,

Post by LiamH »

They do the same thing in Pennsylvania up near our lake house in Upstate NY. Except they use small planes.

Sometimes they drop pesticides and the locals get really pissed off when the Ganja gets ruined! :)

It makes for great entertainment..
