Tech ? for Anthony

Post by Gromit »

When I fill up text in the Message Body Box the box starts kind of bouncing around, I can no longer see the textr and it is virtually impossible to highlight portions of text for bolding or italicizing etc.

Even if I scroll down to see what I've typed outside the original box it bounces back up again so I can no longer see what I'm typing.

I've tried several remedies and just down right coping with it but it's getting pretty annoying. Why is this happening? Anyone else experience this issue? Does everyone understand what I'm describing?

Girlfriend, finally someone else has my problem - I thought I was special. I have even been known to have to answer a thread in 2 seperate, but continuous posts, as I could not take all the bouncing around :)
Anthony, please, please help

Pia-- I hadn't been posting for awhile so I figured something changed. Maybe Anthony is trying to force us to write shorter messages???

It's SUPER annoying!! And I would think it would be nearly impossible to post a Trip Report with this happening. So if you want a TR from me in a couple of weeks someone better fix this!

Me too!

I thought maybe I had crumbs in my keyboard or something so I banged and canned-aired it out and I was still having the same problem.

Couple of things - with the text, it sounds like bad web browser behavior. Hard to diagnose since there are so many OS/browser configurations. I have never witnessed this issue or heard of it before. I can only suggest upgrading your browser or try using something different when on the forum (like Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.).

Jim your problem sounds like a cookie issue. If you can delete your forum cookie or anything cookies set with virgin-islands-on-line.com, then quit and restart the browser, it may clear up. Sometimes also this can be a security feature of the OS or web browser...

If anyone can give me more details on the OS/browser config and versions, etc. I can try to give better solutions. For trip reports, long responses, try them in notepad or Word or something first a.) so you don't lost them in case of any other kind of issue and b.) to help with the scrolling issue you describe above.

I had the same problem when posting my Italy TR. I ended up copying and pasting a word document for the TR and inserting pix where I wanted them. Sorry it looked so amature.

How does VickiH do such an nice job on TRs? She even has pictures all the proper size. She's a pro!
