We're back
We're back
We're back after a great last minute trip. The girls were really surprised- more shocked really. No jumping up and down, just great confusion when we walked up to the St. Thomas gate at the airport. It was pretty funny- my youngest said she still wouldn't believe it until we landed! No tears about being tricked that we were going to the grandparents!
Anyways, had a great time, the weather was PERFECT, not many skeeters at all. No "housewife" sightings (although there were a ton of Hooters girls at the airport-ugh).
Stayed at Moonswept again, just LOVE that villa. Got a good last minute (one week notice) deal. Gorgeous views, just can't get over that place! Although Calabash boom road is more rutted than last year (supposed to be fixed soon-yeah!). Also, fyi- the villa is supposed to get solar heating in the pool soon also!
Did a few new things, one really nice surprise being a hike from Fish Bay to Reef Bay that we saw on a Trail Bandit map. Didn't make it all the way to the petroglyphs though as we were not prepared with enough water or snack. With the kids (and it was hot) decided to save that till another trip.
Great dinner at Ms. Lucy's- that was our only big night out- fabulous- I thought their brunch was good (went a few years ago), but that didn't impress me as much as our dinner this time. Lots of fun, great flavors and great service. Other great food at Vies- chicken was extra good this year!
Will post a few pics later, but overall- highly recommend the last minute trip thing. Good deals and much less stress preparing! If you forget something- oh well.
Sad to be back home, but as we didn't think we would be goig back for a long time, I can't complain too much!
