Booze in the blender

Post by splash »

I am looking for some frozen drink ideas.

What are you mixing up in that blender at the villa?

Thanks,

Try ice, Dole Orange/Peach/Mango juice, pineapple juice, 1/2 a banana, 1 shot Cruzan Mango, 1 shot Capt. Morgan! YUM! :D

Oh... and throw in a little cream of coconut if you like!

At Starfish and Pine Peace they sell Fruit punch in a can with a white label. It used to be called Puerto Rican Fruit Punch but I think it may just be Fruit Punch now.

That and Cruzan Dark Rum and Ice. YUMMMY

Hawaiian Punch dry drink mix....add to bottled water...throw in some coconut rum...freeze overnight. Take to beach the next day and drink as it thaws. Easy and yummy!

Refreshing--especially on St. John! You can either serve it on ice or throw it in the blender. Just add the lime and lemon slice after blending.
I really lime bacardi limon.
ice
1 1/4 ounces Bacardi Limon
5 ounces 'simply' lemonade
3/4 ounce real lemon concentrate
1 slice lime
1 slice lemon
Directions
  • Fill 10-ounce glass with ice.
    Add the limon.
    Add the lemonade.
    Add the concentrate.
    Garnish with the fruit slices.

Also refreshing with our without a blender--should not be too sweet:

Ingredients
1 1/4 ounces Bacardi Limon
6 ounces lemonade
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 slice lemon
1 mint sprig
Directions
  • Add rum, lemonade and lemon juice to a glass filled about 1/2 way with ice and stir.
Sink lemon slice and whole sprig of mint in glass and stir to infuse a light mint taste.
Add more ice to bring drink to the rim of glass if needed. Enjoy!

1 part Cruzan Coconut, 1 part Cruzan Banana, 1 part Cruzan Pineapple, squeeze of lime and ice to chill & dilute. All that fruit juice ... could make you sick and it's expensive.

We're pretty basic... coco lopez, pineapple and mango juice, and lots of rum. Try mixing it the night before and throwing it in the freezer. The next day your frosty drinks will stay that way much longer around the pool.

Cool blog from Jesse Card who very artfully tends bar at Salud Bistro on STX. It has some really good drink recipes, too, like the Pineapple Curacao Daquiri. I'm sure he will be adding more:

Thank you all for the great ideas... not just in this post but on the entire forum. I love the idea on freezing it the night before to take to the beach.

I have been a lurker for a long time and I am glad I signed up.

I'm new to these blender drinks, but I gave one a try and it didn't taste good. I used frozen tropical fruit from Wegman's, Goya Coconut Milk, ice cubes to dilute, and some of that Dark Rum they sell at St. Thomas Duty Free that's wrapped in paper and has a little straw hat on it. It just didn't taste good. I added some sugar and that helped a little. Should I be using Cream of Coconut instead? Would light rum be better? Help me out. I tend to be a minimalist and I like to keep my drinks simple with just a few ingredients and not too sweet.

Definitely need to use cream of coconut instead of coconut milk to get a little sweetness and thickness. Also using Cruzan Rum (light or dark) always makes the drink yummier. :D
