Slightly OT: Bermuda photos
Slightly OT: Bermuda photos
Hello forumites! It has been a while since I posted here, but I just wanted to send a message out to those of you who might have an interest in visiting other islands. My wife and I just returned from a 4-day trip to Bermuda, and it was just as I remembered it from my first visit 24 years ago. Beautiful place with very friendly people.
Anyway, for those of you who are interested, here is a link to a photo gallery from the trip:

In addition, here are a few samples to give you a feel of what the island looks like - kind of a cross between the volcanic rock in Hawaii and the beautiful water of the Caribbean.

Marybeth - the place we stayed was called Watercolours. Really nice, Victorian place on the harbour overlooking Hamilton. The woman who owns it - Carole Holding - is a delight and also a well known artist on the island.
Thanks, Vicki. Hope all is well!

Absoutely gorgeous. I love Bermuda.
I see patches of seaweed in the water...was it bad while you were there? We were on Bermuda in August and could not even get into the water at Church Bay because of the seaweed--disappointing since that is such a nice snorkel spot.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

The seaweed was pretty bad the first couple of days we were there, but the water calmed down on the south shore a bunch the last day and we did some snorkeling in Church Bay the last morning. I don't remember there being any seaweed when I was there 24 years ago in the summer - so maybe it is a seasonal thing? Or maybe I'm just getting old!
The restaurant in the last photo was at the Pompano Beach Resort on the west side of the island. We may stay there next time we go. It was gorgeous.
