Jamestown,
Good luck with your open water dives. I just completed my check out dives in Florida this past weekend. The Gulf was too cold so we did 6 dives in the freshwater springs near Panama City Beach - the water was a chilly 65 degrees! I had a 3 mill wet suite on with a farmer jane & a hood and everytime I stoped moving in the water I would start shivering.
I was wondering who I should contact about diving in St.John - from what I am reading I am guessing I should get in touch with Colette. My husband is afraid of the open water and has no interest in diving and I am still so new to the whole diving experience. I am concerned with the currents associated with a salt water dive. Any advice would be appreciated.

Millbrook cert dives
Hey there,,,You will be 10 minutes from our home when you blow bubbles at Millbrook. Where are you staying? I'm in Cal now be back in va on tne 2nd...God bless.....Bill
Bill in VA,
It will just be a day trip....about 90 min of travel to the quarry. Only thing is, we have to do the dives on 2 different weekends. I'll let you know the dates when we schedule.
Jorge,
I thought you were getting certified...actually, it's been in the back of my mind. I was wondering about your progress. Sounds like you plunked down big bucks for equipment.
Bob and Anita,
Are you still going on the European (jazz band)vacation in addition to STJ?????
I am totally DREADING the quarry dives and cold water.
Not sure about the water temp in May, but imagine it will be chilly. Hopefully the wet suit will keep me comfortable.
Happily blowing bubbles in PA/MD,
Jamestown

Jamestown, I did my open water one certification dives off the beach in Gloucester MA....in November! It was FREEZING. I was so cold that when I got out of the water my mom had to peel my wetsuit off me because I could not move my fingers. I wised up and did my open water 2 certification dives in Florida.
Anyway, it will be worth it when you get to dive off St. John. You won't have to spend your island time doing the certification stuff-you can just get out there and swim! Good luck with your quarry dives!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
