Cinnamon Bay Camps

Post by toes in the sand »

I found this while the VI NPS website searching to answer someone elses question.

"PLEASE NOTE THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE SLOW VISITATION PERIOD AND THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CINNAMON BAY CAMPGROUND. PLEASE CALL (340) 776-6201, EXT. 238 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION."

Anyone know what this is about? I know that NPS is not good about keeping their website up to date but I did not know of a time when Cinnamon Bay Camps was closed.

We just got home this morning, and CBC was closed. I think it's just for the slow season, though. We missed our first night's dinner with Fabian.
Concordia was also closed. Maho Bay Campground was the only one open.

Was there a date given for expected re-opening?

This page http://www.cinnamonbay.com/rates.html says that CBC is closed for the months of September and October.
They should be open now.

Cinnamon has been closing for the month of September for a number of years now. The campground is operated by Caneel Bay, and Caneel's first non-hurricane related closing was September -October this year, so Cinnamon was included in that. They reopened yesterday.
