Fresh Fish - Coral Bay

Post by Lovermont »

Have I read in the past that one can buy fresh fish from fishermen as they return from sea, right in Coral Bay? If so, a couple of questions...
1) Where? I'm thinking that I'd read that it was somewhere near Island Blues; is that correct.
2) Will the fisherman clean & fillet the fish?
3) What kind of fish am I likely to find? I'd like to bring some recipes with me as we'll have access to a gas grill.

Thank you in advance!

There are fresh fish in Coral Bay. It is on the bay side Just pass Coco Lobo about 100 yards +-. ( Not Island Blues )

Not easy to see, look for a small boat and a couple of guys with white coolers.

They call the fish "Blue Runners and Yellow Tail" There is not a lot of "Fresh Fish" in the VI. Some of the reef fish will give you " Fish Posion" as the locals say.

They do clean the fish, but that's about it

Would love to hear other comments about our little fish market!!!

Hope that helps

Ted,

I would love some fresh fish while we're visiting!

Is there any particular days and/or times I should look for guys with the coolers?
