Thank you for all of your help. A couple of times after I decided on a destination I wasn't able to find a place to stay--my top picks were booked. So, I poured over the forum and saw that you requested Riviera Maya a few times. I looked into it and liked Hacienda Tres Rios. I was able to book the AI and flight. So, we are going to Mexico. With teens an AI will be--well, they love to eat!

We still don't like crowds but I am sure we will be able to find our quiet moments. The room has a Jacuzzi on the patio. All rooms are ocean view. I think when we need to get away we will be able to.

Now I have to find some good books!

I am going to pour over tripadvisor and find activities. I am so excited!

This is going to be a surprise.

Just a note: I would have gone to St. John but I am determined to stay at the Grande Bay and I just don't know if the pool/hot tub will be ready. So, next year I will be booked by February.

There is a site called localgringos or something similar that my mom found helpful for their trip to that area.

I love their blog. For anyone looking for real T & C information, it is an excellent read. We were standing right next to them at the airport during our last trip but I thought it would be too weird to say anything to them.

Here is the one for Mexico -

PA Girl: I did a search earlier when you said that your mom liked pre-planning with localgringos.

I ended up here:

http://www.locogringo.com/

I really like it better--maybe because I know my way around the website after using it all day!

YES! that is the one! Sneaky knock offs, when I Goggled it I thought it didn't look as good as I remembered. Glad you found the good one.
