Chateau Bordeaux to reopen..................
Chateau Bordeaux to reopen..................
...........next month as a new restaurant
Info can be found at www.stjohntradewindsnews.com but here is a quote.....
"Monsanto will hire an esteemed island chef, who she declined to name, and plans to unveil a menu brimming with French Caribbean cuisine and some classic West Indian dishes. While there is a new owner, the restaurant will retain the name Chateau Bordeaux and the same elegant ambiance."

Well with that view ya just had to know it wasn't going to sit long. Wish they would go the moderate route, maybe something in line with Rhumlines prices as I refuse to pay that kind of $$$$$ for food. Actually think they would make a better go of it in this economy. People are scaling back even if they can still afford to make it to St John.JMHO

Glad to hear the news. I missed going there on our last trip.
Whoever the chef will be, looking forward to hearing about the restaurant more next month and beyond.
That would be fantastic but might make the restaurant kind of on the high-end side (?).designbyroe wrote:I posted over on the Tradewinds site, I wonder if she is getting Ted Robinson back

That is great! That place has such a great view. To maximize it, the new owners should screen in the open air porch and put more railside tables out there, unless they are planning on continuing a lunch service.
If it's Ted cooking I would arrange a taxi to bring me from wherever I was staying on the island. I still remember the flavor of his seafood dishes and his white chocolate tarragon souffle.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
