Villa rental options

Post by PJV356 »

We are renting a villa for the first time and are considering the following 4 bedroom villas, any information pro or con would be appreciated. A couple in our party is visiting St John for the first time so we want to make it memorable.

Island Manor
Coral Rays
Southern Exposure
Hale Lani
Palm Villa
Great Turtle Villa

Thanks,

Paul

Paul, I have stayed at Hale Lani and it worked well for us. Just be advised that 2 of the 4 bedrooms are down below and connected. So if you are placing separate couples this would be an issue. The 2 bedrooms on the main level are "masters" with their own bathrooms. Not an over the top house, a bit worn but amazing view. Again, worked for us.

Thanks Aroobagirl,

We are traveling with 2 other couples and my two grown children (both in there 20s) I read one of the bedrooms has 2 twin beds so the kids would stay in that room. We could share that bathroom with them.

Is there a particular rental agency you would recommend?

Thanks again,

Paul

We are staying at Palm Villa in early Nov. I'll post some photos when we get back. We stayed just down from there last year at Villa Belvedere, and the view is spectacular. Destination St. John does a good job BTW.

Paul,
Not sure you understood my response. The two bedrooms below are connected. In oterwords, you have to go through one to get to the other as I recall. (You will want to confirm this thru villa company, Destination St. John). They were good to work with! The two rooms downstairs do not have views.

I'm new to the forum. Started reading it 2 years ago to prepare for our 1st trip to St. John for our 20th anniversary. Stayed at Palm Villa June 2008 and loved it. View and location were fabulous. Very private and quiet. Heard voices next door once. Couldn't see or be seen by anyone, that I am aware of.
The master suite is much bigger than the the other 2 bedrooms. The loft upstairs is not air conditioned. We never needed the AC, just used the fan in it for white noise (roosters start early). Our only complaint was laundry left in the washer and dryer that I had to deal with to wash our own stuff. Then someone came in the middle of the week and left more laundry in the machine (I guess they were doing housekeeping for a nearby property?). I thought it was strange, but not really a big deal. Internet problem fixed as soon as we reported it. View from deck was so great, we preferred cooking at the villa and watching the sunset to going out. Rental agency was great, met us late at the ferry and even stopped to let us get a few groceries before taking us to the villa.

We have narrowed our choice down to three villas

Any feedback on the following three villas would be appreciated:

Coral Rays
Hale Lani
