When to book a rental car

Post by Maggy »

My husband and I (yes, we do travel together  I'm not always traveling with the girls or the divers) is planning a trip to the VI's from April 18. One week on STJ and one week on Virgin Gorda. I have booked the villa but not a rental car.

How soon do you think it's necessary to book the car? We just need a small car/jeep but maybe that's the ones that get booked first? What do you think?

I always book when I book the villa. Just one more thing off the list.

Looks like we will be on island at the same time! We arrive on the 22nd. Hope we get to meet!

I've done it early and last minute (traveling October/November). Never had a problem, but have had to try a few different places to get what I want.

I reserved the car for this year back in August; got the last available car in the category that I wanted.

Since the rental prices don't fluctuate much and you know your itinerary, no harm in doing it sooner rather than later.

Thank you!. Maybe I should go ahead and book now. Not sure where though. Any good suggestions? My husband was not too thrilled over the old car that also was in a very bad shape, that we rented from Courtesy last time. I know rental cars here are not perfect, but this one was really in a bad shape. Maybe it was just unluck.

X - it would be very nice if we get a chance to meet. We are going to stay in Coral Bay and will be there until April 25.

Janet, me too. We should pick a nice restaurant and have some lunch. Or take your boat to a deserted place. Maybe we can ask Branson if we can visit his little island   or we can go to Saba Rock and look at Necker.

did you check w/the people you are dealing with in the rental of the villa you are staying in?
We were in the process of renting a jeep and I contacted the villa manager to get some advice on who to rent from and she informed me that it was already done for us by her & at way less than the going rates. It was part of renting the villa.

We're there the 17 -24th.

Thank you Tipsy. I will ask them. It's a private owner, but they might have some good connections anyway.

Nice with lots of forum people there the same time.
