4 nights in December, where should we go
We are planning to get away in December, STJ is out for my reason below.
He wants warm and relaxing, I want cheap. Really cheap.
I would really be happy heading to the Cape or Lake George, I love these areas in the off season but he wants something warmer.
Any suggestions?

The coasts of either Carolina should be cheap in December. That's deep off-season and, while it won't be tropics-warm, it will be warmer than the Cape.
Cape May has good off-season stuff and it's not too far from you. Certainly won't involve a flight. Won't be warm though.
Or, find one of those insane Spirit sales and fly to an island and sleep on the beach.

The NC beaches are going to be really iffy. You might get a beautiful weekend with 70s weather (not real common but it does happen). But you might get a wet and windy 40 degrees.
It would be really cheap though.

"Sponges grow in the ocean...I wonder how much deeper it would be if that didn't happen."
Living in NC, I can't agree more. It's gonna be one or the other. But, it's those random 70's in December that make us forget that we can't get decent bread down here.djmom wrote:The NC beaches are going to be really iffy. When you get them, you break out the shorts and just love life

How 'bout Key West? Although the weather will be warmer than New England, we can have temps in the 40-60's at that time.
Not sure how warm you guys want it. Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic. If you want to stay "local" I vote for KW.
Usually http://cheapcaribbean.com has some good air/hotel deals.
Good luck in your search!

I checked out Kathyz' suggestion for the web site showed a deal for Crystal Palace I Nassau. Its not a bad place. I stayed there once. Smallish beach, but the neighboring related property had a larger one, large resort type place, pretty good casino. 15 minutes from the airport. Non stops from NYC. Right on the main drag with a bus that stops right outside to take you into town. They posted a deal 229/per person for 5 nights.
