Nice start to your report!

I bet that rainy deluge was May 4th right? I know because that was the day I left and we barely made it to the car barge...

LOVE your trip report. Thanks for taking the time to share. What a bummer getting rain in your room at such a nice resort. I would love to stay at Caneel if we could get the bed and breakfast deal for $325. I have tried many dates next year, but that deal doesn't ever come up. May I ask how you got your good price? (Granted its a "relatively good" price.) I remember the other report (I think it was jmq) who got the $325 B&B deal.

GORGEOUS Pics!
I'd trade a rainy day at Caneel for a good day here in Jersey any time!
Great TR so far, thanks!

Was that a "boat" floating in the shower?

It's good to "see" you guys! Well, 1/2 so far... :)

I'm lovin' your report and want to know more about your Caneel stay. I'm also curious about how you booked your stay.

I'm trying to get my DH to agree to do at least part of our next trip at Caneel. I like liamsaunt's idea of ending your trip with 3 or 4 days at Caneel.

Thanks for the pictures of the garden rooms. I've never stayed over there. They do have nice details, with the arches, etc. Was the water coming in under the door?

Nice view upgrade though! :D
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I don't think it's ever too late for a trip report...thanks for posting!

We stayed in a garden view room at Caneel that was identical to yours and we loved it. When we were delivered to the room, the escort seemed genuine in his praise of the bathrooms being some of the best on the property...lots of island character. Fortunately we didn't have the water issues you had to deal with!

Yes, that deluge must have been May 4; the day we left the island. I've never experienced rain like that before. We barely made it to the ferry for the flooded streets, the rain started at about 6:30 AM and by 9:00 AM when we left the villa the pool was overflowing (at least 5 inches had come down and it was still pouring rain), we got soaked-our luggage got soaked-not a good start to a 15 hour travel day.

Anyway, loving your report. Do you have a picture of the pool area at Caneel?

Missing St. John. As always.

I gasped in horror for you over the lack of champagne. We have looked forward to that perk too and also would have been disappointed. Thank goodness it arrived right away!

Your description of the move-in process and pictures of husband, phone, champagne glass remember me so much of our trips.

We have a chill-out planned for June.

Oh my! How did you leave that precious little puppy home??

We might start bringing our baby with us more. My girlfriend brought their pup on their last trip and really enjoyed it.

Anyway, I love your trip reports!!
