You obviously have not had to listen to a drunk girl in a Peyton Manning jersey blab on and on about him while you were trying to enjoy your conch fritters and Blue Motorcycles at Woody's.
You're right - I would have told her that I had just seen Kenny and Peyton getting on the ferry to Red Hook, then I'd walk over to the Beach Bar to see how fast/far she could swim!

If you ever don't stand me up for a BB gathering, then I will buy the first round. I have played a pretty awesome STJ/KC prank, but you've got me beat.

Hey Lulu!!

I have no problem with folks visiting St. John because his songs inspired them, but if you're visiting to get a glimpse of him or bother him, come visit me instead. He just lives right down the road from me And Nashville is a much cheaper destination; it's just landlocked.

Is that an invitation?????

Hey, justsaying....it's not really my board, and you are not intruding, you are welcome here anytime, but to comment on your quote up there, I am a true St. John Lover, and would like to take you up on that drink offer! However, I am not there very often (maybe once a year) so, in order to get that drink,(or maybe buy you one) are you there all the time? Are you lucky enough to call St. John home? If you are, I'll let you know next time I'm headed down, and we can have a BBC at Woody's or maybe a Bushwhacker at The Beach Bar...Boo makes a killer one!

Not there all the time, but a lot. Definitely let me know next time you are headed down. :)

Kenny's album Be As You Are Songs From an Old Blue Chair has become a favourite.

I had never in my life even heard of the Island of St. John and had zero clue where it was located. After listening to the songs on that album I felt that it must be one of the most beautiful places ever for someone to write an entire album about a lifestyle I couldn't even fathom.

Coincidentally and subsequent to the album I met someone who vacationed on STJ twice/year for the last decade and I was invited along on the next trip. On that first trip I got it. I understood why Kenny made that album and why that album spoke to my heart (and obvioulsy to his).

I am now planning my 3rd trip to STJ. Haven't run into Kenny on Island and don't expect that I ever will. Whatever. I now have a whole new life experience that touches my heart and soul whenever I think of my STJ and other Caribben island memories and the ones yet to be made.

My kids know the lyrics by heart...and moan when dad puts the CD on again

I love his music and energy, as well as his invitation to relax within his songs.
I'd like to meet him, sure, but I've never really been one to be "star-struck", ya' know?
We all need "Down Time", and it's kinda' neat that he's been involved with his own romance with STJ like the rest of us.
Just my opinion-
