I have seen Kenny play from day one anytime he came up to the Boston area. From being an opening act to all the way to selling out the main ticket.
I'm a fan and I really enjoy the story he tells. If there would be one show I would give anything to see that one be an acoustic session.
While he is on island people should just give him his space and let him be him.

Well said Mike, I totally agree I would love to see an acoustic show.Boston Mike wrote:I have seen Kenny play from day one anytime he came up to the Boston area. From being an opening act to all the way to selling out the main ticket.

Me too...haven't missed a year seeing KC since '99. We were there for the two Dallas shows (rainstorm and return free show), and those were amazing experiences, but an acoustic show would be the ultimate.
I can't imagine what it would be like to have no privacy. I realize that is the price one pays for that career choice, but that has to wear on you after awhile. No wonder he loves his boat!
Enjoy your time off Kenny...your fans aren't going anywhere, I promise. Well, unless there is sand involved and you'll probably see us with our bums parked there.

We just spoke to people who rented our Grande Bay condo last week and they said they saw Kenny 3 times. Once coming out of Woodies, walking past Surly Cantina, and on his boat moored in front of Soggy Dollar Bar. They were on a tourist boat that docked right next to Kenny's boat. They said that a body guard kind of guy asked them to stop taking pictures because they were on vacation.

What I always wondered, is don't the captn's of these boats respect Kenny's privacy or do they just say 'hey that big boat there is Kenny Chesney's?stjohnpete wrote:and on his boat moored in front of Soggy Dollar Bar. It has always seemed strange to me. Caneel employees never say when someone famous is on premises. When I worked for them it was forbidden, you signed something or could lose your job
It would be my guess that not everyone in the world knows that it is his boat. I wouldn't know it to see it. I know he's changed the name of it again to throw people off his trail. Not to mention that mooring balls are a hot commodity in White Bay. I'm sure captains are more concerned about finding a place to secure their vessel then who might be next to them in the water.
Really, it's up to the passengers on the boat to have the personal discretion to not take pictures of the people on the boat next to them -- regardless of their celebrity status. It's just good manners.

am i the only one that doesn't care?
sorry if i offend anyone - but i wouldn't know who that guy is if i walked right into him... and his music does nothing for me.
gimme some rock or reggae and i'm there!

Another KC debate - why is that - I think people just like it that he has the same obsession that we all have for St. John. Just respect his privacy as you want others to respect yours - celebrity or not!*Sunnie* wrote:am i the only one that doesn't care?![]()

Try listening to his story telling lyrics sometime.

I guess I just figure people HAVE to be told who is on that big boat to want to take pics....Lulu76 wrote: Really, it's up to the passengers on the boat to have the personal discretion to not take pictures of the people on the boat next to them -- regardless of their celebrity status. There are alot of boats right up on Soggy that are bigger then Kenny's and NO ONE is famous on board.
You are right about the moorings, that is why so many end up nearer Ivans and he does not have many.
I think it's a bit of a Catch-22. I wouldn't say that I fell in love with St. John because of him, but I will say that his music reminds me of my favorite place on earth. And really if someone did listen to his CD and want to blow several grand to come check it out, I couldn't fault them.
I just don't get why people feel like his music give them the right to interrupt his vacation. I will say, though, that St. John doesn't seem to be the only place that the poor guy has problems. He's had to put houses in Key West and Nashville on the market because his overzealous fans were interrupting his day-to-day life, and that's not particularly fair. Every celebrity has stalkers, but KC seems to attract the cream of the crop.
I am hoping that with him "taking a break" and getting out of the spotlight, it will give the loony tunies time to get it out of their system.
I have no problem with folks visiting St. John because his songs inspired them, but if you're visiting to get a glimpse of him or bother him, come visit me instead. He just lives right down the road from me
And Nashville is a much cheaper destination; it's just landlocked.
