Tree Frog Cottage or Giovannas Giardino Al Mare ??

Post by Lynwood »

Has anyone seen or stayed in either of these villas on St John. We are trying to make a decision between the 2 places. Thanks.

I haven't stayed at these villas but have looked them over pretty well. It just depends what location you like the best. They are both pretty similar in amenities and price so the deciding factor is do you want to be on the center of the island making it easier to get everywhere, or do you want ocean views on the far side of Coral Bay? (easy to get to Salt Pond, Drunk Bay & The Tourist Trap)
Villa choosing is the hardest part! Good luck in your decision~~~
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

I stayed in Tree Frog. The owner has it well equipped. There are AC units upstairs living area and downstairs bedroom. The bed was comfortable as well as the small couch upstairs and the TV and appliances were in good shape. It was very clean. And it was very inexpensive by St John standards. The negatives: Narrow dirt road subject to erosion by heavy rain leading to cottage. This was compounded by a very sharp , almost back in the opposite direction of very steep driveway into cottage. Whoever is driving back at night better keep their alcohol intake at a minimum. One of us had to get out of the jeep and direct the other to back it into driveway and to get out. The other negative was that the balcony, decks are pretty narrow and not conducive to sitting out on. The view is only partial of the bay.
And as you know there is no hot tub or pool. The cottage itself is very nice considering the price and is a comfortable place to go back to sleep after a day's adventures.
